Earl Dreeshen is a fourth generation farmer from Pine Lake. He served on the hospital board for a number of years in Elnora and was a high school math and physics teacher for 34 years in Innisfail. Dreeshen has been an Member of Parliament since 2008. He was twice elected as an MP for the Red Deer riding. Dreeshen has represented the newly formed Red Deer-Mountain View constituency in Ottawa since 2015.
Red Deer-Mountain View candidate Conner Borle agrees with the Green Party's desire to move to a grassroots democracy. The 27 year old lives in Red Deer and as a teacher says his goal is working towards the future.
The Mountain View Child Care Society recently celebrated its one year anniversary in the community last week. Program Director Jennifer Thompson says they received a grant from the Alberta Government to open an early learning child care centre in Olds last year. Thompson says it offers affordable child care with 26 staff members serving 80 children. They also have a wait list.

Since the Wildrose Humane Society opened in June of 2018, 37 cats have been adopted. Volunteer Vice President Corina Cooke says they have 8 cats in care right now, with 5 of them in a foster to adopt program.
