Music, dance, stories, and discussion groups will be part of the Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations in the town of Olds on Tuesday, June 18th.
Indigenous Peoples Day will be celebrated this week in the Town of Olds.
Olds council officially proclaimed Tuesday, June 18th as Indigenous Peoples Day.
Executive Director of the Olds Institute Mitch Thompson says events will take place in Centennial Park on that day from 9am until 3pm.
If there is inclement weather, the events will be held in the Big Rack Rentals Cow Palace.
Thompson says there are many opportunities for residents and students to celebrate culture.
Local schools from around the region will also take part in celebrations.
Meanwhile, on Monday, June 17th there will be a free showing of the movie "Indian Horse" at the Trans Canada Theatre starting at 7 o'clock.
