It was standing room only at the Olds Curling Club on Thursday, September 5th during the ticket launch for the 2020 Humpty's Champions Cup.
The final Grand Slam of Curling event of the 2019-2020 season is being hosted in Olds from April 29th-May 3rd.
Olympic Gold medalist Kevin Martin was there for the ticket launch announcement. He says a press conference doesn't usually have hundreds of people in attendance.
Martin adds, out of the 12 teams of men and 12 teams of women it will be interesting to see how many Canadian teams make into the final Grand Slam event in Olds.
2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion Chelsea Carey was also in Olds for the press conference.
She says the Grand Slam of Curling is all thanks to Kevin.
Carey says she is blown away by the excitement in town for the 2020 Humpty's Champions Cup.
Team Carey still has to win its way into the Grand Slam finale in Olds.
Martin stressed for Olds residents to get their tickets quickly as there are only so many seat available for each draw and people from Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton will also want to watch live. The Olds SportsComplex is set up to hold about 1,500 spectators.
