Bantam AA Grizzlys Win Tier Two Title In Kamloops At KIBHT

Kelvin Kearns was named the Top Defenceman in the Founders Division as the Olds Bantam AA Grizzlys won the Tier Two championship at the 2019 Kamloops International Bantam Hockey Tournament during the January 5-7 weekend. Kearns was also named to the tournament's all-star team as a defenceman. Forward Joe Kelly was selected as an all-star as well.

The Olds Bantam AA Grizzlys hockey team attended one of Western Canada's biggest tourneys for that age division in Kamloops, B.C. last weekend.

Head Coach Chris Overwater says the Grizzlys came out undefeated at the 2019 Kamloops International Bantam Hockey Tournament as they finished with a 6-0 record to win the Tier Two championship.

Olds defeat the Okanagan Hockey Academy by the score of 4-3 in the title game.

He adds there were 37 teams there from the United States, British Columbia and Alberta.

Overwater says the team played really well from the goalies out.

The Thompson Blazers won the KIBHT's Tier One championship.

The Olds Bantam AA Grizzlys go back to league play now. They will be hosting the Olds Grizzlys Bantam AA Tournament at the SportsComplex from January 17-20th.
