Bev Toews - Fairtrade Canada Lifetime Achievement Award

Olds citizen Bev Toews has received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her work with Fairtrade Canada and around the world.

An Olds citizen and Educational Assistant at Olds High School has received a Lifetime Achievement Award with her work with Fairtrade Canada and around the world.
Bev Toews is the Chair of the Fair Trade Olds Committee, she is on the Canadian Fair Trade Network Board, and a member of the OHS Fair Trade School steering committee.
Toews says along with Olds being a Fair Trade Town, Olds High School has also been recognized as a Fair Trade School.
She says supporting fair trade provides a living wage for people who are small producers in the global south.
Toews adds at Olds High School, students are learning a lot about fair trade and really want to be good global citizens.
She adds supporting fair trade helps small producers in the global south adapt to the changing climate.
Olds has been designated as a Fair Trade Town and Toews says Olds High School has also been recognized as a Fair Trade School.
