Chinook's Edge School Division will be ready for whatever comes down in the fall from the provincial government, following the Board of Education's approval of the fall budget. That is according to CESD Treasurer Susan Roy. She says CESD trustees recently approved a $128 million dollar budget for 2019/2020.
Ahead of the summer break, Chinook's Edge School Division trustees approved the 2019/2020 budget.
Chinook's Edge Treasurer Susan Roy says the Board of Education has given the green light to a $128 million dollar budget. She notes it is slightly down, but not by much compared to past years.
She says school divisions will now have to wait until the fall when the provincial government unveils its budget.
Roy says based on their estimates, slight enrolment growth, as well as the recent collective agreement with their teachers, Chinook's Edge is looking at reserves to balance the budget.
Roy says they assume the provincial government will fund enrolment increases.
CESD's student enrolment is 11,181 students.
