Community Pedals Over 4000 Kilometers During CLC Ride For Mental Health

Recreation & Special Events Programmer at the Community Learning Campus Fitness Centre Steven Bowie says the community ended up covering the distance from Vancouver, B.C. to Sudbury, Ontario during their second annual Ride For Mental Health.

The community rode 4003 kilometers during Ride For Mental Health at the CLC Fitness Centre last week.

Recreation & Special Events Programmer at the CLC Steven Bowie says a total of $625.55 was raised thanks to Matrix Canada STAK Fitness who donated 15 cents per kilometer to the Olds College Student Emergency Bursary Fund.

He says the goal for this year was to ride across Canada.

Bowie says they had some friendly competitions going on during the two days of the ride.

College staff departments also participated, the Olds College Broncos and the Olds Grizzlys.

The Bronco's women's hockey team had the most kilometers total with 257.1.

Meanwhile, the Bell "Let's Talk" day for mental health awareness is coming up on Wednesday, January 30th.
