I love Canadian oil & gas was the theme of an oilfield support rally which rolled from Innisfail to Olds on Saturday, January 26th.

The convoy of about 120 big rigs, semis, cars and trucks stretched out for about 5 kilometers as it made its wasy down the QE2 Highway.

Organizer Paul Hoffman with Parkland Pipeline Contractors says the rally was strictly pipeline focused. He says they partnered with Bristow Projects Inc. to organized the event because it is tough out there right now.

Hoffman adds the rally was non-partisan.

Hoffman says Olds Mayor Michael Muzychka will be taking their message to the federal level during an upcoming Urban Municipalities Association convention in Quebec.

Hoffman adds different industries supported the rally and it included oilfield supporters from B.C, Saskatchewan and even Quebec.

The United Conservative Party MLA for Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills Nathan Cooper says the rally showed the importance of the energy industry and the effects it has on everyone in the province.

The rally started at the Bristow Projects yard in Innisfail and ended at Parkland Pipeline Contractors in Olds.
