The Brickers, who run Chestermere Herefords and make big contributions to the community, received the prestigious honor at the Calgary Stampede.Mountain View County is represented by the Bricker Family for this year's BMO Farm Family Award.
The Brickers have been farming west of Didsbury for 34 years and have been active members of the community throughout their lives.
Dave Bricker reacted to the recognition.
Dave was involved with Unifarm, as well as the local hall board and was Safety Coordinator for the county.
His wife Phyllis was involved in many women's organizations and their children and grandchildren are involved in a number of organizations including the Didsbury Skate Club and 4H.
The Brickers run a purebred cattle operation and they also grow barley, oats,
canola and hay.
They were presented their award on July 9th at the Calgary Stampede along with 20 other southern Alberta families.
