Dan Kulak with Environment Canada's unofficial count has 5 tornadoes touching down in Alberta this summer. However, the Warning Preparedness Meteorologist says the extreme weather seems to be impacting more people's property this year.
Across the province tornado warnings were almost a daily occurrence during the month of July.
But Dan Kulak, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says unofficially Alberta has had significantly less tornado activity than its neighbors to the east this summer.
Kulak explains how to get ready for the annual extreme weather featured during the summer months.
He believes keeping an eye on the sky & constantly being aware of the weather forecast are a couple of the key ways to protect against being caught outside during tornado.
