Police in central Alberta say they'll answer questions today after making an arrest in the case of an exploding parcel that killed a woman.
55 year old Brian Malley faces one count of first degree murder. He also faces additional charges of causing an explosion of an explosive substance likely to cause serious bodily harm, death or serious damage to property - as well as sending or delivering to a person an explosive device.
23 year old Victoria Shachtay was killed when a hand-delivered package left on the doorstep at her townhouse in Innisfail blew up.
Malley remains in custody and he is scheduled to appear in Red Deer court today.
RCMP say more than 70 investigators worked thousands of hours to gather & examine evidence related to the matter.
On Friday, and into the weekend, Mounties executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused in Innisfail. Although explosive experts were involved in the search, police operators did not pose any risk to the public.
