Local Youth Honored at Calgary Stampede

4H members of all ages were awarded scholarships for the International Youth Livestock program.

The International Youth Livestock program wrapped up on Saturday night at the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show.

All 55 recipients were honored, including local 4H members.

In the senior division: Andie Hadway of Didsbury and Tessa Nybo of Sundre each received 3000 dollar scholarships, while Raymond Gallelli of Crossfield took home a 2000 dollar scholarship.

A total of 20 - 1000 dollar scholarships were handed out.

Local recipients include Kalina Chalack and Shallaine Daley - both of Carstairs - Michael Haeni of Didsbury, and Lars Iverson and Lisa Jacobsen both of Olds

Intermediate scholarship winners from our area include Cassidy Mathews of Olds, Jose Hadway of Didsbury, and Haylea Jones, Kayla Jones and Quinci Jones - all from the Carstairs club.

For the second year in a row, junior aged participants were also on the list. Cache McLearie of Sundre won a 500 dollar scholarship.

The gala event Saturday night at the BMO Center in Calgary wrapped up the week-long Summer Synergy event which began in Olds.
