Logan Garbanewski is from Whitecourt, Alberta and he was asked by the NDP Party if he would run in the federal election after volunteering during the provincial election this spring.

The 2019 Federal Election is less than 2 weeks away.

In Red Deer-Mountain View there are 5 candidates in the running including Logan Garbanewski with the NDP.

Garbanewski is a 21 year old education student at Red Deer College.

He has always had a passion for politics and a dream to be a politician.

Garbanewski says he brings a student perspective to the election table, while focusing on many issues.

What stands out to him in the NDP platform is the expansion of health care.

In the local Red Deer-Mountain View riding, Garbanewski says he is focusing on rural crime and tackling the issue at its root source.

Garbanewski says that includes expanding social services, increasing youth engagement at Boys & Girls Clubs, improving the working conditions of the RCMP, and working towards the long term goal of getting people out of poverty.

Also running in the Red Deer-Mountain View riding are incumbent Earl Dreeshen with the Conservative Party of Canada, Conner Borlé with the Green Party, Paul Mitchell with the People’s Party of Canada, as well as Gary Tremblay with the Liberals.

Advanced polls opened on the morning of Friday, October 11th. The federal election is set for October 21st.
