This year's theme is 'Who depends on you in 72?'. The province of Alberta asks 'do you have a 72 hour kit & an emergency plan?'
This is emergency preparedness week.
Derek Sutherland, Director of Disaster Services for the town of Didsbury, explains what families need to do to be ready for an emergency.
Sutherland says in that kit needs to be enough food for 3 days, 4 litres of water per person, bedding, candles, flashlights with extra batteries, fuel and a camp stove.
