At the regular council meeting on Wednesday, June 12th Mountain View County's annual citizenship awards were presented.
Mountain View County handed out its citizenship awards and the accompanying $500 dollar scholarships on Wednesday, June 12th.
Grade 12 student Jillian Klys was the recipient from Cremona High School and representing Division 2 of the County.
Klys talks about her future plans.
She volunteers at the Didsbury Hospital in the Continuing Care Unit as mealtime host and has collected over 100 volunteer hours in that role.
Klys will be attending Red Deer College in the nursing program. She says it is important to volunteer.
Other 2019 Mountain View County citizenship award winners included Ashley Stevenson from Carstairs High School, Lacey Newsome from Didsbury High School, Noah Rowe from Olds High School, Dahlia Erick from Olds Koinonia Christian School and Shayelyn Scott from Sundre High School.
The awards are doled out by the County annually to rural high school students in the area who display the qualities of leadership and community involvement.
