Mountain View County council approved the 2020 Capital and Operating Projects Budget in the amount of $25.2 million dollars on Wednesday, December 11th. County council also gave the green light to an interim 2020 Operating Expense Budget in the amount of slightly more than $36 million dollars.
The 2020 Capital Projects Budget and next year's interim operating budget were on the agenda for Wednesday's Mountain View County council meeting.
Mountain View County council has approved the 2020 Capital and Operating Projects Budget in the amount of $25,252,475.
Rob Beaupertuis, Director of Corporate Services, reported to council during the meeting they have been able to achieve some savings when it comes to the County's chip sealing program.
The fiscal year end for the province is March 31st, so Beaupertuis says the impact of the Alberta government's rural policing plan won't be felt until the final 9 months of 2020.
He also informed council that the County has received a provincial grant which will help out their finance department.
Also on Wednesday, Mountain View County council approved an interim 2020 Operating Expense Budget of $36,014,777.
Next year's actual Operating Budget will come back to council starting in January with approval anticipated for April of 2020.
