Mountain View County council has requested its CAO obtain cost estimates for segments of berm structures along the Red Deer River west of Sundre.
Yesterday's Mountain View County council meeting included plenty of discussions about long term solutions for flooding issues along the Red Deer River.
Council has asked CAO Tony Martens to comeback with cost estimates for segments of berm structures west of Sundre.
Division 6 Councillor Paddy Munroe says it is an issue which requires a proactive approach.
According to Munroe, building a berm is an expensive proposition & they've said from the start it is the province's responsibility.
If the Red Deer River does follow its path from the past, he explains who he believes the stakeholders for a local improvement tax will be.
Mountain View County council has also requested its CAO return to the August
15th meeting with information regarding the scope & process for a local
improvement tax to help pay for the berm segments.
