The Mountain View Seniors' Housing Board has terminated the Alberta Health Services contracts at all of its sites. Chief Administrative Officer Sam Smalldon with MVSH notes the termination is with the required 12-month notice.
That is according to MVSH's Chief Administrative Officer Sam Smalldon. He adds the termination is with the required 12-month notice.
Smalldon says the issue for many years has been underfunding of the contract by AHS - the money received to deliver health care.
According to Smalldon, the board has discussed and questioned involvement in delivery of health care for a number of years.
The Board contends health care is a provincial and an AHS responsibility, as a result it should not fall on the shoulders of municipal taxpayers.
