OC Broncos Scholarship Breakfast Includes Olympic Gold Medalist As Guest Speaker

Brianne Jenner - a two time women's hockey Olympian - was in Olds for the Olds College Broncos Scholarship Breakfast on Monday, December 3rd. The 27 year old forward won gold with Team Canada in 2014 in Sochi and silver in 2018 in Pyeongchang. Jenner has also captured five IIHF World Championship medals.

A two time women's hockey Olympian was in Olds on Monday, December 3rd during the Olds College Broncos Scholarship Breakfast.

Brianne Jenner won gold with Team Canada in 2014 in Sochi and silver in 2018 in Pyeongchang. She has also won five IIHF World Championship medals.

The 27 year old forward has had a lot of time to talk with the varsity teams on the Olds College campus as this was her fifth visit.

She adds, it is great to have the continuing relationship with student athletes.

Jenner relates to student athletes and is also a representative with the Head to Head program.

As for the 2022 Olympics, Jenner wants to take it one season at a time and she is enjoying continuing to play hockey as her career. 

Olds College's Women's Hockey Coach Chris Leeming says the Broncos are fortunate to have Brianne as a mentor.

Director of Broncos Athletics Linda Henderson says funds from the scholarship breakfast will support OC's student athlete scholarships.

Henderson notes Olds College has to generate $100-thousand dollars a year for student athlete scholarships.
