Olds College Selects New VP Academic & Student Experience And Chief Innovation Officer

Olds College recently announced Debbie Thompson is its new Vice President of Academic & Student Experience and Chief Innovation Officer. Thompson holds a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Calgary.

Debbie Thompson is the new Vice President of Academic & Student Experience and the Chief Innovation Officer at Olds College.
The local post-secondary institution made that announcement at the end of July. Thompson had previously served at Olds College as the Vice President of Student Supports.
Thompson originally joined Olds College in 2014 as the Dean of Animal Sciences and Horticulture. In her new role, Thompson explains what goals she has for herself and for the Olds college.
Thompson says certainly there is a focus at Olds College on succession planning, growth as leaders and the opportunity to look within for leadership. New President Stuart Cullum, Tanya McDonald - the VP of Advancement - and now Thompson have all moved up the ladder during their time on campus.
Thompson says there is still one opening left on Olds College's executive. She expects to see the role of Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer filled by the end of the month.
