Olds Fire Department Firefighters Answering The Bell For Calgary Stairclimb Challenge Again

For the third time, the Olds Fire Department is heading to Calgary to participate in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge.

11 members of the Olds Fire Department are heading to Calgary for the 2018 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge.

Team Captain Noel D'arcy says they will be climbing 1204 steps in full gear in an effort to raise funds for Wellspring Calgary to support firefighters and citizens living with cancer.

The climb takes place on Sunday at the BOW building, according to D'arcy.

He says the gear weighs approximately 50 pounds.

D'arcy finished the stair climb in about 14 minutes last year.
