Within 11 minutes on July 25th, 3 separate complaints were phoned in to the Olds RCMP detachment regarding an impaired driver on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway.
Local Mounties were alerted by members of the general public about an impaired driver on the QE2 last Thursday night.
Olds RCMP say the black 2005 Toyota 4-Runner eventually went into the ditch about 3 kilometers south of Bowden.
Initial police investigation detected signs of impairment from the driver.
21 year old Martin Talbot from Red Deer faces numerous motor vehicle & drug related charges.
Police list cocaine (12 grams), oxy codine (1/2 tablet), cannibis resin (19 grams) & a bottle of steroids among the drugs discovered in the vehicle & in his possession.
Talbot was remanded into custody & is slated to appear in court this week.
The charges include impaired operation of a motor vehicle, 1 count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, 1 count of unlawfully possessing another person's license, 1 count of unlawfully possessing a mutilated document (license), 1 count of uninsured operation of a motor vehicle, 3 counts of unlawfully possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and 1 count of simple possession of a controlled substance.
