The Mountain View Museum has been operating in Olds since 1974 but in February the Olds Historical Society requested financial support from the town to keep its doors open.
On Monday night town council green lighted a financial support plan for the Olds Historical Society.
Based on a quarterly evaluation by town administration, it could see a total of $30,000 allocated to the Historical Society over the next 2 fiscal years.
Olds Historical Society Chair Donna Erdman says the support from council is greatly appreciated.
Barb Hill, Director of Community Services, says the first step of the
rebuilding & redevelopment process for the Historical Society's board will
be to identify some short term goals.
Erdman says sustainability planning will also be part of their initial vision for rebuilding.
The Mountain View Museum is open for the public to check out from 9am til 4pm Tuesday through Friday.
