Sundre RCMP - James River Bridge Store Falls Prey To Thieves

Sundre RCMP say several bottles of liquor and cigarettes were taken from the James River Bridge Store during the early morning hours of Thursday, February 14th. A trailer on the property also had several power tools taken from it.

Sundre, AB - At approximately 12:10 a.m on February 14, 2019, the Sundre RCMP detachment received a dispatch to a panic alarm from the James River Bridge Store on Highway 584 and Range Road 52.

Police attended and learned that the alarm was for a glass break at the store.

A review of the security camera footage showed a dark coloured F150 pickup truck drive onto the property. A lone person, wearing dark clothing with a hood, exits the pickup truck and walks around the property where he enters a trailer. The person steals several Makita brand power tools from the trailer and provides them to a second person that is seated in the pickup truck.

The thief goes to the main door of the store and smashes out the glass on the door using a sledge hammer. The thief quickly enters the store and steals several bottles of liquor and cigarettes and departs the area.

Police are seeking any information related to this crime and to call the RCMP Sundre detachment at 403-638-3675 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (2477).
