Windy Conditions Can't Ground OHS Pole Vaulters

5 members of Olds High School's Pole Vaulting crew have qualified for the Alberta Schools' Athletic Association provincial championships in Edmonton next month.

Pole vaulters from OHS enjoyed great success at yesterday's zone track & field meet at Calgary's Foothills Park.

Junior Kevin Spicer was 1st as he made it up & over 3 meters.

Senior Brittany Hepp finished 1st with a leap of 2.5 meters.

Intermediate Alex Groves placed 1st by clearing 2.4 meters.

Shaelyn Moritz & Courtney Shafer will also advance - they had 2nd place finishes.

In the running events...

Carson Jorgensen earned 1st place in the 3000 meters.

Dani Aguilar finished 1st in the 400 meters and 2nd in the 800 meters.

And, Jess Reid placed 2nd in the intermediate girls discus.

All of the participants who placed 1st or 2nd will move on to the ASAA provincial meet on June 1st & 2nd in Edmonton.
