96.5 CKFM spoke to CESD Superintendent Kurt Sacher on Thursday, May 14th.
Chinook's Edge School Division has adjusted the last day of school for students.
Initially planned for June 26th, it has been moved up by one week to June 19th.
CESD Superintendent Kurt Sacher says this modified timeline will allow families time to safely interact with schools on an intermittent basis, so that items can be picked up and returned prior to the end of the school year.
He notes school staff in Chinook's Edge will remain working on final year-end duties the week of June 22nd through the 29th.
Alberta's students have been learning at home since March and the Premier confirmed in April that schools will not be opening for the balance of the current academic year.
