Duncan Hughes from Rocky Mountain House is going to have the chance to stop pucks for the Seahawks when he heads to Newport, Rhode Island to continue his hockey career at the post-secondary level.
Rocky Mountain House product Duncan Hughes has found a place to play NCAA hockey next season.
The 20 year old goaltender will be heading to Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island to suit up with the Seahawks.
Hughes played 73 games with the Olds Grizzlys in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and faced an average of 35.1 shots per game. He won 11 games while posting an eight-seventy-eight save percentage.
Hughes was also the back to back winner of the Community Spirit Award for the Grizzlys during his two full seasons in Olds.
He becomes the third member of the Black & Gold to commit to a post-secondary school for next season. On March 5th, Logan Bromhead became the first member of the 2020/2021 recruiting class for Simon Fraser University. On April 22nd, Daine Milgate committed to Briercrest College.
