96.5 CKFM spoke to Innisfail Eagles General Manager Ryan Dodd on Monday, July 27th.

The Innisfail Eagles announced via social media on Sunday, July 26th that they have found a league to play in for the upcoming season of senior men's hockey.

The Birds have declared AAA and they will be playing a full season in the Ranchland Hockey League.

In the league, Innisfail joins the Nanton Palominos, the Siksika Buffaloes, the Fort MacLeod Mustangs, the Kainai Braves and the Lethbridge Lightning.

The Innisfail Eagles stated they are thankful to the teams for allowing them the opportunity to play in the Ranchland Hockey League and stay competitive in the hopes of achieving the end goal of hoisting the Allan Cup.

The Eagles thank everyone for continuing to support them and hope to be back on the ice in October.

The Innisfail Eagles and the Stony Plain Eagles were the only two senior men's triple teams in Alberta last season. They played without a league and staged a series of exhibition games during the year. Innisfail then built up a three games to none lead in the best of seven provincial final before the remainder of the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
