The town of Sundre is set to become the fictional town of "Hardwell” in an original new series being developed independently for Netflix. Pipe Nation is a Made-in-Alberta series, the pilot episode for which is being filmed in and around Sundre as a production for the streaming giant Netflix.
An independent filmmaker will be producing a pilot for a Netflix television series in the town of Sundre.
Sundre's Economic Development Officer Jonathan Allan says the TV show "Pipe Nation" will be about a group of pipeliners.
He explains what type of job opportunities this show could provide for to Sundre.
Allan expects the pilot episode for the show to filmed over the course of about 10 days in August.
He notes this is the first time that a TV series will be filmed in Sundre.
Allan is very happy the town was able to recruit these film makers to come to Sundre.
He says a large portion of the show will be shot right in Sundre with other scenes likely filmed just west of town.
96.5 CKFM's Melanie Hepp spoke with Jonathan Allan on Monday, July 6th.
