A $125,000 dollar provincial grant has been awarded to the Olds Curling Club. Jeff Miller - President of the Olds Curling Club - says it is for the upcoming Humpty's Champions Cup event which takes place in Olds from April 29th through May 3rd. He says funds will go towards items including: free admission to the social house, bigger and better entertainment, plus volunteer recognition.
Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper stopped in to deliver some great news at the Olds Curling Club on Friday, February 14th.
He was very excited to announce the grant on behalf of Alberta’s Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism & Status of Women Leela Aheer.
Cooper - who is also the Speaker of the Alberta Legislative Assembly - says folks at the Olds Curling Club are looking forward to talking the event to the next level.
The Humpty’s Champions Cup is an international competition and it is the final event for the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling season. 12 top men's and 12 top women's rinks will come to town for it from April 29th through May 3rd.

Miller notes they really want to focus on youth involvement as well.
