The Olds Fire Department raised more than $2700 dollars for Wellspring Calgary during this year's Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge.
Five members of the Olds Fire Department recently participated in the 6th annual Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge.
They had to climb the equivalent of 54 stories - 1204 stairs - while carrying approximately 50 pounds of extra gear.
Normally it is held at the Bow Building in Calgary, however Noel D'Arcy with the OFD says due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was a virtual event this year.
Wellspring Calgary is a warm and welcoming community that provides a comprehensive range of support, resources and programs so anyone living with cancer - and the people who care about them - can improve the quality of their lives. He says it is a great organization to support.
Go to the website calgarystairclimb.com and search for the Olds Fire Department, it will bring you to the team page where donations can be made online or you can bring a cheque in to the OFD.
D'Arcy says a total of about 400 firefighters from various locations participated in this year's virtual stair climb challenge to raise money for Wellspring Calgary.
