Olds RCMP Arrest Male For Exposure & Making Sexually Explicit Material Available To A Child

Olds RCMP say a 67 year old male from Olds has been arrested and faces charges of making sexually explicit material available to a child and exposure of genital organs to a child for a sexual purpose.

Olds, Alberta - On Monday, December 9th members of the Olds RCMP detachment made an arrest of a male subject who was reported to have shown a naked picture of himself to a young child during the late summer while at a playground within the Town of Olds.

Staff Sergeant Jim MacDonald says the man allegedly made sexual comments and the child left the playground. RCMP were not made aware of the incident until October of 2019.

Further investigation resulted in the identification of the male suspect and on Tuesday, December 10th the RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence and seized what is believed to be offence related property.

67 year old Terry Haskell of Olds has been charged with:

· Making sexually explicit material available to a child
· Exposure of genital organs to a child for a sexual purpose.

He was released with several conditions after a judicial hearing; including the following: prohibited from going within 10 metres of any swimming pool, day care centre, school ground, playground or community centre; prohibited from possessing any portable electronic devices cable of capturing images outside his home; and prohibited from being in the presence of anyone under the age of 16 unless they are in the presence of a responsible adult.

He is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on December 16th, 2019.
