Olds RCMP say the investigation is continuing and charges are pending against the driver of an SUV following a two vehicle collision on Wednesday, November 13th just east of the Boston Pizza on Highway 27.
Olds RCMP, town of Olds Fire Department and EMS were dispatched to a collision on Highway 27 just east of Boston Pizza on Wednesday, November 13th.
It happened just after 5pm. Police say the driver of a Hyundai SUV was stopped on the side of the road facing eastbound.
According to Staff Sergeant Jim MacDonald, she attempted to do a U-turn and pulled into the path of an eastbound grain truck causing the truck to collide with the driver side of the SUV.
The unloaded gravel truck travelled across the westbound lanes and flipped as it entered the north ditch.
Olds RCMP say the driver of the SUV had to be extracted from her vehicle by the Fire Department and was transported to hospital with injuries.
The driver of the grain truck was uninjured.
Traffic on Highway 27 was diverted for approximately two hours at Range Road 13 and Highway 2A.
