Pee Wee AA Grizzlys Win Bronze At Edmonton Tournament, Cheer On WHLer From Olds

Team Manager Lisa Sanderman says the Olds Pee Wee AA Grizzlys recently had a successful trip up north to Edmonton for the Oil Kings New Year's Tournament. While in Edmonton, Sanderman says they were also able to attend the Western Hockey League game on New Year's Day to cheer on Ronan Seeley and his Everett Silvertips against the Oil Kings.

The Olds Pee Wee AA Grizzlys brought back a bronze medal from the Oil Kings New Year's Tournament in Edmonton.

Team Manager Lisa Sanderman discusses how the team performed in the tourney.

She adds, the Pee Wee AA Grizzlys were able to do some bonding and see some of their heroes while in the big city during the holiday season.

The New Year's Day game at Rogers Place saw the Edmonton Oil Kings get past the Everett Silvertips 4-3 in a shootout.

Ronan Seeley has helped the Silvertips post the second most wins in the Western Hockey League through 38 games this season. Everett is 26-9-2-and-1 to sit in 2nd place in the U.S. Division behind the Portland Winterhawks.

Seeley has 3 goals and 18 points from the blueline so far during his 2nd year in the WHL.

In November, the 17 year old from Olds was one of 52 WHLers who were named to Central Scouting's "Players to Watch" list for the 2020 NHL draft.

Ronan played for the Pee Wee Grizzlys when they hosted Hockey Alberta's Pee Wee AA Major Provincial Championship Tournament back in 2015.

On January 4th, he had a goal and an assist to help Everett win 5-2 in Prince George. The Silvertips next game is this Saturday when they visit the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, the Olds Pee Wee AA Grizzlys are currently 2nd in the South Central Alberta Hockey League's North Conference.

They carry a record of 13-5-and-1 into their game in Okotoks on Saturday, January 11th.

The Pee Wee Grizzlys return home to the SportsComplex to host Lethbridge on Sunday, January 12th at 1:30.
