Rocky Mountain House RCMP Investigate Fatal Off-Highway Vehicle Collision

A fatal head-on collision between two off highway vehicles in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 18th has claimed the life of a 27 year old male from the Rocky Mountain House area. It happened near Highway 752 and Range Road 100a.

Clearwater County, Alberta ~ On Saturday, July 18th at approximately 1:15am, members of the Rocky Mountain House RCMP Detachment responded to a collision between two off highway vehicles near highway 752 and Range Road 100a.

Two all terrain vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, where the driver of one ATV, a 27 year old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The three adults on the second ATV were also injured, with the driver, a 42 year old male, being flown to a Calgary area hospital via STARS.  The other two riders, both males, 28 years of age, suffered minor injuries. 

All parties involved were from the Rocky Mountain House area.

At this time, the Rocky Mountain House Detachment, along with the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate, and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
