Sundre, AB ~ Jeremy Meissner (44) of Innisfail, the driver of the 2009 pickup truck that collided head on with the 1963 car near Sundre on August 6th, 2020, has been charged with the following criminal offences:
· S. 320.13(2)CC – Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm;
· S. 320.15(1)CC – Fail to Comply With a Breath Demand;
· S. 320.14(1)(a)CC – Impaired Operation of a Conveyance while Impaired by Drug and/or Alcohol;
· S. 320.14(2)CC – Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm While Impaired by Drug and/or Alcohol;
· S. 145(5)(a)CC – Fail to Comply With a Release Order x 4
Mr. Meissner was located and arrested in Innisfail and brought before a Justice of the Peace. He was released on a $2000 Promise to Pay release order, with several court-imposed conditions, and ordered to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on February 8th, 2021 to speak to the allegations.
Through a judicial authorization, the Sundre RCMP obtained Mr. Meissner’s blood, which was submitted to the National Forensics Laboratory Services in Edmonton for analysis. Unfortunately, there was a delay obtaining the analysis of Mr. Meissner’s blood due to COVID-19 protocols but the Sundre RCMP eventually received the results and charged Mr. Meissner with the appropriate criminal charges.

Sundre RCMP Investigate Serious Motor Vehicle Collision
Sundre, AB ~ At approximately 1:00PM, the Sundre RCMP, Sundre Fire and EMS responded to a three vehicle motor vehicle collision on Hwy 27 near Range Road 52 just east of the Town of Sundre. A westbound 2009 pickup truck crossed over the centre line and struck an east bound 1963 car. The collision caused the car to spin where it struck a west bound 2018 pickup truck that was unable to avoid the collision. The lone driver of the car, a 41-year-old male driver from Airdrie, suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to a Calgary-area hospital for immediate medical intervention. The lone driver of the 2009 pickup truck, a 43-year-old male driver from Innisfail, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the local area hospital for treatment. The three occupants of the 2018 pickup truck were uninjured in the collision. Both east and west bound traffic lanes of Hwy 27 were impassable to traffic and were re-routed until 5:00PM while the RCMP conducted their investigation and crews removed debris. Chinook Arch Victim Services is providing assistance to the family and friends of those involved. The RCMP Collision Analyst and the Sundre RCMP continue to investigate and an update will be provided when new information becomes available.
