Town of Didsbury Ups Commitment To Skatepark Project

This month the town of Didsbury confirmed a further $60,000 investment towards the skatepark project. That amount is in addition to the $39,000 the town previously invested on design work.

The Town of Didsbury continues to add to the value of the community for residents, future residents and visitors with a skatepark project.
That is according to Mayor Rhonda Hunter. She says this month the town confirmed a further $60,000 investment towards the park.
She says a fundraising consultant - Jordan Cleland Consulting - has been contracted to raise $500,000 for the project in the next year.
Hunter adds, council admires the dedication of community residents for their work with the park so far throught the Sk8park Society.
Mayor Rhonda Hunter says the dollars are part of the recreation budget which were presented in December.
She adds this is phase 1 of the Memorial Complex outlying plan which was approved by council a few years ago.
Hunter says Didsbury has a target of building the skatepark in the spring of 2020. It will be located east of the aquatic centre.
The Newline Skateparks design was approved back in 2018.
