Town of Olds staff will direct vehicles to park in designated locations at the Rotary Athletic Park of Olds to view the fireworks on Friday, July 3rd at 11pm. People must remain in their vehicles and there are no bathroms available on site. The fireworks had originally been planned for Tuesday, June 30th but rain forced them to be moved to Friday instead.
The town of Olds has collected photos from community members who have decorated their houses in Red & White to show their Canadian pride.
Heather Dixon, Coordinator of Special Events and FCSS for the town of Olds, says at 11am on July 1st the gallery of all the pictures will be put up on the town's website to create a virtual parade.
Dixon adds, the website will also have more programming at 3pm on Canada Day with a virtual concert.
The town of Olds initially was set to kick off the Canada Day holiday festivities with fireworks on Tuesday, June 30th.
Unfortunately Mother Nature is not cooperating so the fireworks will take place on Friday, July 3rd instead.
