Last week the Policies & Priorities Committee discussed an engagement plan along with public consultations for a bylaw on murals or supergraphics in the town of Olds. Mayor Michael Muzychka says everyone enjoys these public art displays, but council wants to ensure that property owners and groups like Uptowne Olds know that there has to be a long term plan for the public art displays. He notes important questions include - what goes up, how it will be maintained, and ultimately how does it get remediated when the time comes to take it down.
The final Olds town council meeting before the 2020 summer break takes place on Monday, July 13th.
Mayor Michael Muzychka explains what the Policies & Priorities Committee recommended to council last week regarding an engagement plan along with public consultations for a bylaw on murals or super graphics.
He says a survey on murals and supergraphics will be conducted by the town once council and administration finalize the way the questions are to be asked. Face to face public consultations will be set up as well.
Mayor Muzychka discusses Olds council taking a break following the first four months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the July 13th meeting, Olds council is not slated to meet again until August 24th.
