Town of Olds - Municipal By-Election Candidates Forum On January 8th

The town of Olds will have its municipal by-election to fill the one vacant council seat on January 20th. Coming up on Wednesday, January 8th there is a candidates forum at the TransCanada Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 and then the forum runs from 7 until 8:30pm.

The Chief Administrative Officer for the town of Olds is encouraging residents to attend the candidates forum for the 2020 municipal by-election.

Michael Merritt says it runs from 7 until 8:30 on Wednesday, January 8th at the TransCanada Theatre.

CAO Merritt says they had about 140 votes cast during the two advanced polling sessions on Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th in the council chambers at the town of Olds office.

The moderator for the candidates forum at the TransCanada Theatre will be Olds Chamber of Commerce President Mark Johnson. Town of Olds residents will be able to submit written questions for the by-election candidates to answer.

According to the town of Olds the candidates are - in alphabetical order - Keith Bishop, Sundai Cody, Darcy Dobush, Rudy Durieux, Mitch Thomson, Jan Thompson and Darren Wilson.

The municipal by-election to fill the one vacant seat on Olds town council will take place from 8am until 8pm on Monday, January 20th at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion.
