Canola and peas are coming out of the flowering stage in their area, according to Agronomist Rebecca Wiebe with Core Ag Inputs in Carstairs.
She says pods are developing fairly well.
She says this is a good time of year for farmers to look at disease assessment on their different fields.
Wiebe encourages them to look at canola especially.
She notes they are doing final assessments on any weed activity that has flushed in the area. Wiebe says there has been multiple flushes of weeds this year simply because there has been so much moisture.
Wiebe says Hail and excess moisture impacted a number of fields in the Core Ag area in 2020.
Wiebe discusses how this summer’s weather has impacted crops in the area.
Wiebe expects most yields in their area to be at least average to above average this year.
