The 40th anniversary edition of the Terry Fox Run is coming up on Sunday, September 20th.
Noel D’Arcy with the Olds Fire Department is organizing the Terry Fox Run in the town of Olds.
He explains how they are going to do it, while still complying with COVID-19 mitigation measures.
D’Arcy says COVID-19 restrictions will be in place as they hold the Olds Terry Fox Run virtually this year.
There will be a 5 kilometre and a 10k course marked out starting at the Olds Fire Hall from 6am until 11pm on Sunday.
He notes they are encouraging participants to come at staggered times throughout the day and complete their run.
With group gatherings being discouraged there will not be a BBQ during this year’s event.
D’Arcy says the Olds Terry Fox Run raised about $4600 dollars in 2019 and they hope to collect a similar amount for cancer research this year.
96.5 CKFM’s Melanie Hepp spoke with Noel D’Arcy on Thursday, September 10th.
