Alberta has identified 399 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours based on about 9,200 (9,217) tests. The provincial test positivity rate is approximately 4.4 per cent.
280 individuals are in hospital including 56 in intensive care units.
8 new deaths have been reported increasing the number of lives lost to the virus in the province during the pandemic to 1,874.
There are 4,484 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta including 1,510 in the Calgary Zone, 897 in the Edmonton Zone and 737 in the Central Zone.
Red Deer County is down by 8 to 32 active cases, while Mountain View County remains at 14.
Innisfail is down by 9 to 17 active cases, Sylvan Lake is up by 2 to 19 active cases of COVID-19, while Rocky Mountain House has decreased by 1 to 7.
The Didsbury/Carstairs/South Mountain View County area remains at 13 active cases.
The Three Hills/Highway 21 area is up by 1 to 6, Olds has increased by 1 to 4, Sundre is remains at 1, and Crossfield continues to report zero active cases of the virus.
Alberta continues to monitor variant strains of COVID-19 with a total of 348 cases reported as of February 24th including 75 in the Central Zone. 32 new cases of the United Kingdom variant have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.
Vaccine distribution is underway with over 195,000 (195,572) doses administered as of February 24th.
More than 126,000 (126,074) Albertans have recovered from COVID-19.
